PremiumTrust Bank Steps Up as Lead Sponsor of the Niger Delta Games

PremiumTrust Bank is proud to announce its role as the lead sponsor of the inaugural Niger Delta Sports Festival, which will take place in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, from April 2nd to 9th, 2025. This sponsorship is a significant step for the bank in fostering community development and promoting the spirit of healthy competition across the Niger Delta region.

Organized by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), the Niger Delta Games aim to revive the culture of sports in the region, provide a platform for emerging athletes, and inspire youth to pursue excellence across various sports disciplines. The event will feature athletes from across the region, competing in sports such as athletics, football, table tennis and basketball.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, PremiumTrust Bank’s MD/CEO, Emmanuel Efe Emefienim (CON), emphasized the bank’s commitment to youth empowerment and supporting initiatives that drive growth and unity within the Niger Delta region and across Nigeria.

“We believe in the transformative power of sports to inspire change and build a stronger, more resilient community. Our sponsorship of the Niger Delta Games aligns with our mission to positively impact the lives of young people nationwide. In addition to being the official banker of the NDDC Games, we are the lead sponsors of the Gateway Games in Abeokuta. Previously, we sponsored the 2022 National Sports Festival in Asaba, and we’ve also supported two top Nigerian athletes, Tobi Amusan and Ese Brume, for three years. We also kitted Bayelsa Queens for their CAF Champions League campaign and sponsored the Abuja marathon. We do all this because we believe that providing a platform for youth to thrive will have a ripple effect across the nation,” said Emmanuel Efe Emefienim (CON).
